Questions
Everything people ask before they start
Plain answers. If yours is not here, write to us and we will add it.
The coach
What is FluentWin?
An English coach in an app. It prepares you for IELTS, PTE Academic and the GRE, and teaches everyday English, with feedback that explains every mistake in the language you think in.
Which languages can the coach explain in?
English and Hindi today. Vietnamese, Filipino and Japanese are next. You choose the language once and can change it in settings.
Will it understand my accent?
The speech recognition behind FluentWin was chosen after testing it on speakers of many first languages, so it hears what you said rather than what it expected.
Is a person marking my answers?
No. Writing and speaking are assessed by AI against the exam's public criteria, and objective questions are marked by the same rules the test uses.
Scores and progress
Are FluentWin scores official?
No. FluentWin shows estimates from your practice, each with the range it is likely to fall in. Only the test owner issues an official result.
How soon will I see an estimate?
After the diagnostic, or after a short practice set in a skill. The range narrows as you practise more.
Can I prepare for more than one exam?
Yes. Switch between IELTS, PTE, GRE and Everyday English at any time. Each keeps its own goal, plan and progress.
Account and privacy
Do I need an account to start?
No. You can start straight away and add an email, Google or Apple sign-in later to keep your progress on another phone.
What happens to my recordings?
Recordings are kept only as long as it takes to mark them, unless you choose otherwise. You can download or delete your data from the app.
